Effective teams are created by strong leadership that set forth positive teamwork and related-goals, which are among many other habits and traits. In completing the Clifton Strengths Assessment and learning my top five dominant themes of talent, which include in the order learner, responsibility, achiever, relator, and belief (Gallup & Rath, 2007). I knew I had always loved learning but never related being a learner to strength in leadership or a theme of talent. Of course, nursing is where we never stop learning. To bring the most recent evidence-based care, we must continuously learn. Being responsible has always been a core value. I respect others that are responsible and demand responsibility in myself; I have always believed everyone should finish what they start. Being an achiever surprised me even though I love accomplishing things and feel I cannot do enough for my team, family, friends, and especially my patients. To me, this was just being myself. I have always wanted to be a nurse, and I believe that when you are responsible for others, you must give 100 plus percent. Overall, the Clifton Strengths Assessment surprised me with how well it fits the core values I have always believed in.

MY LEADERSHIP PROFILE
In order to be an effective leader, one must possess certain traits. The fact that one is appointed into a position does not mean they have the necessary skill to perform a leadership role. It will be a good idea for everyone to self-evaluate for leadership skills and behaviors. One can do this by looking into one’s performance in a particular area of leadership and evaluating one’s performance in a particular area.

People talented in connectedness believe there is a reason for every event. I just mentioned this to a fellow worker yesterday at work. I create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility within groups and individuals.
IDEATION
Innovations attract people who are talented in the ideation theme. They can bridge the gap between connections between two seemingly different opinions. It describes me as someone who sees himself as being logical and reasonable. I agree with this conclusion. It describes me as someone who finds out how two pieces are interrelated. My thinking answers how things are done the way they are done.

It describes me as someone who studies fact, and it describes me as someone that take action based on evidence, I give an unsentimental approach to various discussion, I tend to eliminate any sentiment or feelings when making a decision
MY 2 CORE VALUES
Core values are individual fundamental beliefs and peak priorities that propel their behavior. Moral judgment and value influence people’s points of view, attitudes, and behavior (Myyry, 2022). It is an internal compass of principle that propels a person’s decision. The two core values are integrity and humility. Because I always strive hard for the right thing. Another core value is honesty because I am a person of integrity. I behave ethically and always do the right thing. I have vital moral principles. Humility is a core value, and humility promotes selflessness and dignity. I listen to other people and welcome other people’s ideas.
MY 2 STRENGHTS
I have communication skills, am approachable, easy to talk to and deal with, have good communication skills that enhance transparency, and can handle challenging situations with a sense of humor. I am an active listener, respect others’ perspectives, and stay judgmental.
Empathy: Empathy and emotional intelligence are crucial strengths for a leader. It helps create strong relationships between leaders and their followers. Organizations have realized that there is a link between understanding and meeting their staff’s emotional and motivational needs, as this has been proven to enhance productivity (Nichols et al., 2022). Having empathy allows me to recognize behaviors and non-verbal cues. Empathy nurtures emotional intelligence, enabling me to mediate with my subordinates.
2 CHARACTERISTIC I WILL LIKE TO STRENGHTEN
Analysis of the assessment shows that I am a solo performer and highly sensitive about what others think about me.
(A). AS A SOLO PERFORMER
In order to achieve an objective, it is either one work in a group or individually. There is an advantage in either working individually or working as a group. As a leader in an organization. It is advantageous as a team to work together collectively. I need to adjust myself and develop a more effective way of working with people to achieve objectives.
As a solo performer, it makes me more efficient. I complete things quickly without getting delayed, I do not have to quarrel with anyone when completing the task, and I can also receive praise for all the work done. There is strength in working as a team because it will facilitate creative ideas and more people brainstorming. It is also a way of letting others win sometimes. I need to work on this weakness.
(B). BEING HIGHLY SENSITIVE ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT ME
I decided to read more articles about this topic. I figured out that being highly sensitive about what others think can lead to emotional exhaustion, carrying one’s feelings is emotionally damaging, overanalyzing every little word is not healthy, noticing intonation in conversation, assessing if the tone does match the word, leading to agonizing post interaction.
CONCLUSION
Through the StrenghtFinder assessment instrument, I was able to identify my strengths. The strengths insight guide reveals to me. My 5 top themes amaze me that I have the following themes: Restorative, Learner, Connectedness, Ideation, and Focus. Discovering this theme can enhance motivation, engagement, and academic self-conference. I can use this assessment to leverage my talents for the highest success and analyze how the result is linked to my leadership traits. Leaders are not found by luck; they are formed through preparation, character experience, and circumstances (Broome & Marshall, 2021).

“Clifton StrengthsFinder measures the intensity of your talents in each of the 34 Clifton Strengths themes, these 34 themes represent what people do best, and categorize all that’s right with humankind.” (Gallup, 2021.) By taking the assessment, it helps build your strengths and the strength of others.
Results
According to my Gallup Clifton Strength Signature Theme Report, 2023, I am a relator, an achiever, Strategic, a deliberative, and have intellection. Relator describes my attitude towards relationships. It states that I tend to pull towards people I already know, which is so true. I do not form personal relationships quickly, and I am very cautious and protective of my circle and my life. (Gallup Clifton Strengths, 2023). Achiever explains my drive, it states that by the end of the day I must achieve something tangible to feel good about myself. I do not agree with this statement, but I do have energy to work long hours without burning out and am always moving. (Gallup Clifton Strengths, 2023).
The strategic theme enables me to sort through the clutter and find the best route. It is not a skill that can be taught. (Gallup Clifton Strengths, 2023). When things look dim, or it seems there is no way out, I am known to make a way. Deliberative explains that I am careful, vigilant, and a private person. This is all very true. I also anticipate for things if they go wrong, and I am careful not to give too much praise and recognition. I am not here to be liked, but to do a job, and get it done. Finally, intellection, I am a thinker, need a lot of mental activity, am a problem solver, and develop ideas to understand another people’s feelings. (Gallup Clifton Strengths, 2023).
Core Values
My core values are honesty, respect, courage, and loyalty. The core values in my life are consistent. My core values are always strong and I do not feel as though I need to strengthen them, they are instilled in me. It is my character, my beliefs, and my protection for my wellbeing. My core values coincide with my strengths which also aid in continuing to build my character.
Strengths
The strengths I need to work on are bringing intensity and effort to the most important areas of my life and share my visions of a better future. I am not a very expressive person, so I need to work on being more passionate about putting forth an effort in my life. I also need to look into looking in to the future and not the now. By looking into the future with certain things, will better help me attain my goals.
Characteristics
The characteristics I need to strengthen are politeness and compassionate. I am a very straight forward person, and some people feel uncomfortable with my bluntness. I look at it as an insecurity problem within that person because they are not able to have one on one conversations with me.
Conclusion
The Strength Finders assessment helps uncover their talents. It is geared toward making a better you, at work, home, and on a personal level. (Gallup, 2021). The themes help grow and develop your leadership skills. To succeed, we need to know ourselves first.

Advance-practice nursing is a pursuit of betterment built upon a foundation of humanism. Self-reflection is imperative to understand oneself if the goal is to help others build upon their strengths. The Clifton Strength Finder 2.0 is a valuable tool to hone in on strengths that give meaning to our lives and professional roles. Strengths can be leveraged when understood. This discussion will analyze the top 5 strengths to formulate actionable goals.
Top 5 Strengths
The Clifton assessment revealed my top 5 strengths as Learner, Achiever, Input, Self-Assurance, and Connectedness. Learner seemed self-evident in my current scholastic endeavors. The insight guide brought awareness to a deeper theme of the need to examine why things go wrong (Rath, 2021, p. 25). A strong internal locus of control always has been an inherent quality. This has served me well in becoming an achiever in my personal and professional life. A steadfast belief that I can identify modifiable variables in life to adapt more readily to change and entropy in the future is powerful. Just as we teach patients, they can change their health through lifestyle changes. A scholarly article by Dagasan et al. (2023) emphasizes the need for internal locus of control in healthcare’s total quality management leaders. The scholars find that an internal locus of control promotes autonomy and meaningfulness in their work, directly correlating with the strength of Learner. Self-Assurance is a product of Learner. The core of Self-Assurance is the ability to see the world’s objective reality and be decisive in how to respond. The validity of Self-Assurance is earned through Learner not to be conflated with overconfidence or arrogance (Rath, 2021, p. 147).
Input is congruent with Learner as desire to know more. The nuanced layer of Learner is the hunt to find fruitful discussions with other professionals and seek out mentors (Rath, 2021, p. 115). Achiever is the fuel that propels the Learner. Expecting the best of oneself is the mission of Achiever. Task completion is the reward, and awareness of the political, cultural, and societal landscape is always top of mind (Rath, 2021, p. 25). Intolerance for those not reaching their potential can sometimes be frustrating.
The levity of Connectedness can balance the pitfalls of Achiever and Self-Assurance. A genuine interest in understanding what unifies a community and what polarizes it is a visionary quality (Broome & Marshall, 2021, p. 207). Connectedness reminds us as individuals that we are here to make the world better than we found it. Connectedness inserts an interpersonal competency of mindfulness of how a kind word or deed can perpetuate positivity on a large scale (Rath, 2021, p.61).
Core Values, Strengths, & Characteristics
Self-Assurance is a strength I aim to reinforce in the realm of the collaborative care model. There are instances when my certainty inhibits my willingness to listen. An actionable idea of applying the core value of humility can assure others that their thoughts and opinions are valuable (Rath, 2021, p. 147). My character trait of willingness can be called upon to allow cohesiveness to prevail.
Achiever is where I need more balance. I often avoid celebrating successes, feeling they may seem prideful or lead to complacency. A core value of happiness must be remembered. My achievement can be observed in a manner of helping others. When I can draw upon my success with humility to inspire others, I will feel happiness in my own life. Creativity is my most underutilized character trait. Working in a world of evidence-based practice and organizational policies, I often stifle my creativity to stay within structural parameters. A transformational component of leadership is to influence positive social change (Broome & Marshall, 2021, p. 206). Change cannot occur without new ideas. Time to dust off my creativity and put it to work for my Achiever!
In conclusion, self-awareness is the key to unlocking the interconnectedness of our strengths and finding their utility in all aspects of life. Weaknesses will undoubtedly emerge, but synthesizing core values and personal attributes is the antidote to ameliorating their impact.

After completing the StrengthsFinder assessment instrument, the report revealed that my top 5 themes are Includer, Relator, Positivity, Achiever and Focus. As in Includer, the results showed that I do my best work in the evening or after midnight. I find this to be very true because I am often up late getting things done. That is when I find the most peacefulness. It also says that I usually find qualities to appreciate in most people that I meet. I also believe that this is true because I believe that people come into your life for a reason, season or lifetime and I feel that a positive each person that we meet we can take a positive trait from each of them.
The Relator characteristic reports that I enjoy close relationships with others and find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal. I tend to have friendships where we hold one accountable, which ultimately drives us to achieve the goals that we set out for ourselves.
As a person of Positivity, I am very generous with praise, quick to smile and always lookout for the positive in all situations. I do take every situation and look at the bright side of it. I am on of celebration and believe that everything should be celebrated. It also states that “somehow you can’t quite escape your conviction that it is good to be alive.” I am firm believer of that, because with everything that we have been through with the Coronavirus situation, we still stand as front-line care givers and are still striving to do well in school and I am ever so grateful for that.
As the Achiever, this helps explain my drive. I do believe that we all should strive to reach our greatest potential. With this quality, I do believe that something should be marked off the list each day and each day begins at zero. I do feel that if nothing gets done, then I have failed for the day. I have to stop being so critical and relax and live a little more without pressuring myself so much. In the end, I do believe that each day should begin with a set of goals or a list of things/tasks to do.
The final strength is Focus. This strength aligns with the strength of Achiever as Focus always has to have a goal in wanting to know “where am I headed”. This is true because I believe that you should always plan. With this plan, it allows me to prioritize and stay on target. I am the one who keeps everyone on tasks. My Focus reminds everyone that if something isn’t helping you achieve your goals, then it must be eliminated.
In conclusion, I feel that these results relate to my leadership traits by of way of setting goals. I do praise my team all of time. When nurses are given praise, it inspires us to continue to do well. I approach each situation with positivity and I allow the team to provide suggestions on how we can make our unit better. I include their thoughts, feelings and consideration for making changes.

The assessment provides one with an insight into the qualities they possess. On a second thought can cite practical examples and agree with the assessment on the themes that resonate with them. You have thoroughly discussed the five strongest themes of the evaluation. Personal values are solid pillars in boosting an individual’s leadership effectiveness and efficiency (Bruno & Lay, 2008). Other than trying to better your five strongest themes from the assessment, I believe there are different themes in which you were clearly weak and would have loved to strengthen. Do you think being a learner would complement our achiever theme? If one had complimentary themes all through, it would make for great leadership. Fischer (2017) advised that any nurse who desires to be an outstanding leader must be ready to continuously and progressively learn, something you should consider.

Great post. I noted that you and I share two similar themes. Yes, I agree as an achiever, you must set goals small or big and daily task to help keep focus. I believe that tasks or goals big or small lead to more significant achievements. As the Achiever, which helps explain my drive, pushes me to want to do and achieve more. As an achiever, we tend to select jobs in which we have leeway to work as hard as we want, and which encourages us to measure our productivity (Clifton-StrengthsFinder-Resource-Guide, n.d.). Achievers also take advantage of self-motivating by setting challenging goals and set more goals (Clifton-StrengthsFinder-Resource-Guide, n.d.). As a relator, we do tend to enjoy being around people I know. I do not shy away from meeting new people, however. I may have other themes that cause me to experience the thrill of turning strangers into friends (Rath, 2007). The Relator finds a workplace that encourages friendship (Clifton-StrengthsFinder-Resource-Guide, n.d.). The Relator deliberately learns as much as they can about the people they meet, and no matter how busy the Relator is, they stay in contact with their friends (Clifton-StrengthsFinder-Resource-Guide, n.d.). From the beginning of educational, vocational, and career guidance ‘a clear understanding of yourself’ has been considered as crucial for making a ‘wise choice’ (Rossier, 2015). I always enjoy taking surveys or assessments such as this; personality surveys/assessments displaying character strengths and weaknesses, and no matter how many different surveys or assessments I may take, I always learn something new about myself. I almost wish I kept all the surveys I’ve ever taken to see how much I have changed over the years. The Gallup assessment was designed to identify your strengths so that an individual can see where they strive and where they might need some more development; knowing what your leading themes are is the first step to turning them into strengths (Gallup, 2017).
This assessment, my top five strengths are: empathy, consistency, harmony, positivity, and includer. I really wasn’t surprised by any of these traits, I think it describes my strengths pretty accurately. I was glad that I got strengths in three out of the four categories, those being executing, influencing, and relationship building; I was concerned that I did not have any strengths in the strategic thinking category, that is something that I am going to have to work on.
Two strengths that I would like to work on is empathy and harmony. Working in nursing, and being part of the ever-changing world, empathy is something that continues to be a necessity. Seeing the world through the eyes of others and understanding their point of view is required to truly see the world as they do, to care for them in a whole different way. I am very empathetic when it comes to my patients and individuals in my life, but it is a strength that can always develop more. I would like to also strengthen harmony, as to not decrease my own views to keep the peace; I never want to diminish my thoughts, beliefs, or opinions to make sure that there are no arguments.
Two characteristics and core values that I would like to straighten are self-assurance and consistency. I always second guess myself, my abilities, my thinking, my strengths; I hope to strengthen my self-assurance and have more confidence in myself so that I can apply my other strengths to help myself and others. I would also like to stay consistent in my beliefs, my opinions, and my thoughts. I am not consistent with these attributes because one of my strengths is harmony, decreasing my thoughts, opinions, and beliefs to avoid any confrontation.
Nursing is a profession in which communication, empathy, reliability, and attention to detail are essential, yet difficult to measure, in a potential employee (Cupit, Sukal, 2015).Working on the trauma floor I know that I am very empathetic to my patients, I am also a charge nurse on my floor and people look to me to help them deliver care to their patients. Staff members also look to me to help keep the peace between patients and nurses, and coworkers. I include every nurse in any plans that are made, both inside and outside of the hospital along with always staying positive. Staying positive is probably the most difficult where we work, but I always remind the staff that it could be worse, we could be a patient in the bed.

I agree with you that self-awareness plays a significant role in making wise decisions. By taking the assessment, one becomes more self-aware and understands personal leadership traits better. You have an impressive variety of strong themes in your leadership scope, and the areas of focus in your improvement plan will only make you a better leader. Self-assurance is a critical trait. I believe most people would relate to the challenge you have of second-guessing everything they do or have. Self-assurance only comes with confidence in one’s own abilities (McCormick, 2011). Improving on self-assurance is akin to a self-conscious decision to change one’s view of self. To be convinced about personal skills and values, one should refer to past successes, compliments from other people, and progress made (Bruno & Lay, 2008). With self-assurance, you are guaranteed to succeed in leaps and bounds.
