Here, we will show you the A, B, Cs of completing an academic paper, irrespective of the instructions. After guiding you through what to do, the guide will leave one or two sample essays at the end to highlight the various sections discussed below.
How to Research and Prepare for NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING
Whether one passes or fails an academic assignment such as the Walden University NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING depends on the preparation done beforehand. The first thing to do once you receive an assignment is to quickly skim through the requirements. Once that is done, start going through the instructions one by one to clearly understand what the instructor wants. The most important thing here is to understand the required format—whether it is APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.
After understanding the requirements of the paper, the next phase is to gather relevant materials. The first place to start the research process is the weekly resources. Go through the resources provided in the instructions to determine which ones fit the assignment. After reviewing the provided resources, use the university library to search for additional resources. After gathering sufficient and necessary resources, you are now ready to start drafting your paper.
How to Write the Introduction for NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING
The introduction for the Walden University NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING is where you tell the instructor what your paper will encompass. In three to four statements, highlight the important points that will form the basis of your paper. Here, you can include statistics to show the importance of the topic you will be discussing. At the end of the introduction, write a clear purpose statement outlining what exactly will be contained in the paper. This statement will start with “The purpose of this paper…” and then proceed to outline the various sections of the instructions.

How to Write the Body for NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING
After the introduction, move into the main part of the NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING assignment, which is the body. Given that the paper you will be writing is not experimental, the way you organize the headings and subheadings of your paper is critically important. In some cases, you might have to use more subheadings to properly organize the assignment. The organization will depend on the rubric provided. Carefully examine the rubric, as it will contain all the detailed requirements of the assignment. Sometimes, the rubric will have information that the normal instructions lack.
Another important factor to consider at this point is how to do citations. In-text citations are fundamental as they support the arguments and points you make in the paper. At this point, the resources gathered at the beginning will come in handy. Integrating the ideas of the authors with your own will ensure that you produce a comprehensive paper. Also, follow the given citation format. In most cases, APA 7 is the preferred format for nursing assignments.
How to Write the Conclusion for NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING
After completing the main sections, write the conclusion of your paper. The conclusion is a summary of the main points you made in your paper. However, you need to rewrite the points and not simply copy and paste them. By restating the points from each subheading, you will provide a nuanced overview of the assignment to the reader.
How to Format the References List for NURS 8201 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION: SAMPLING
The very last part of your paper involves listing the sources used in your paper. These sources should be listed in alphabetical order and double-spaced. Additionally, use a hanging indent for each source that appears in this list. Lastly, only the sources cited within the body of the paper should appear here.

SAMPLING NURS 8201
SAMPLING NURS 8201
The sampling method is part of the quantitative research methodology that involves the collection of samples from the study population. The samples selected should always be a representation of the population under the study. Stratified sampling is one of the methods that can be used to draw a sample from the population under the study (Lynn, 2019). To address challenges associated with the use of stratified sampling, there is the need; there is need for researchers to identify the right population and develop appropriate tools for data collection (Ureña & Georgiev, 2018).
Identifying the homogeneous groups for the research process is also necessary for enhancing the challenges associated with the stratified sampling process. Besides Chamorro and Filipinos, Polynesia and Micronesia may be considered the ideal population of study for the research problem. One of the strengths of the stratified sampling method is greeter precision compared to other methods. One of the main problems associated with the data collection or sampling method is difficulty identifying appropriate strata (Cao & Shen, 2020). Simple random sampling would be the best alternative data collection method in the research.

In conducting a research study on the prevalence of addiction, I would apply the systematic sampling and data collection approach. The systematic method of data analysis organizes data in a methodical manner (Winsett & Cshion, 2013). For example, studying the rate of heroin addiction among students in a particular university would be necessary to use questionnaires in data collection. Confidential ways of collecting feedback from the questionnaires are used to ensure the answers given are accurate. Systematic counsellors understand that the victims of drug addiction are autonomous and competent persons. The behavior of addicts makes perfect sense to them from their point of view. This humane ideology of the study population lays the basis for rehabilitation (Lempp, 2020).
Ethical challenges may be encountered during the study on addiction. Such challenges manifest as researchers compare studies of drug use across a different population with inhabitants from diverse backgrounds. This challenge is common when forming an exotic capacity for ethical analysis and apparatus for oversight and confidentiality of participants. The susceptibility of participants, communication on freedoms during the study, problems with disclosure, and authentication issues are some of the study’s challenges. Race and language barrier is other obstacles that researchers may encounter in obtaining a sample from this population (United Nations, 2004).

In addressing these challenges, I would draft highly confidential questionnaires. For example, a dropbox may be used by the study population in an institution to drop questionnaires once they have recorded responses. In addition, the questionnaires should not require the participant to fill in their details to maintain anonymity. Before undertaking the study, it would be advisable to explain their rights to privacy and discretion to the participants. In this way, any infringement can lead to legal action. Lastly, the researchers may post the questionnaires in different languages according to the population that is being studied. Another step may involve hiring translators to help the researchers break the language obstacle with participants.
In conclusion, it is essential to understand that systematic counseling is more effective than other methods because it creates a calm environment. Drug dependency victims do not feel the pressure to quit immediately. As a result, its success is attributed to rational decision-making by clients and willingness to change on one’s terms.

Have you ever watched a commercial that touts “four out of five doctors recommend a particular product”? Have you ever wondered how the company is able to make such claims? These types of claims are created using the research method of sampling. Sampling, “involves selecting a group of people, events, behaviors, or other elements with which to conduct a study” (Gray & Grove, 2020).
There are different sampling methods and techniques, with ranging validity outcomes. Therefore, it is important to determine the technique that is most valid. Much of the outcome will be dependent on the particular group sampled (or the population), so a sampling plan will be integral before sampling occurs.

For this Discussion, reflect on the population in your area of practice. Consider the most appropriate use for this population and potential challenges that may affect sampling in this population. Then, think about how you might address these challenges and what strategies you might implement. How might a different population yield similar or conflicting results?

To Prepare:
- Review the Learning Resources for this week and reflect on a population in your area of practice. How might you sample this population, and what challenges might you experience? Consider the use of strategies, or perhaps a different population, to mitigate these challenges.
- After considering the sampling of a specific population, consider the importance of data collection. How might sampling be used in research, and what benefits might be derived from sampling in a study? Conversely, consider how a different approach might be useful.
By Day 3 of Week 3
Post an explanation of the researchable populations that may be present in your area of practice. Describe which would be most appropriate for use in your research study and explain why. Then, describe the challenges of obtaining a sample from this population. How might you address those challenges? Be specific and provide examples. Be sure to also include the approach you would recommend to collect data from the sample that you described. Provide a rationale for the approach that you choose based on this week’s Learning Resources.
A significant problem affecting my healthcare organization is central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs). With the correct aseptic practices, monitoring, and management strategies, the majority of situations may be prevented. CLABSI has been a primary hospital-acquired infection affecting patients in inpatient care. According to surveys, the prevalence of CLABSI has significantly increased, which has resulted in the deterioration of the hospital safety culture. Patients affected by CLABSI tend to have several complications in addition to extended hospital stays. It has resulted in increased healthcare expenses for both patients and hospitals. Establishing a change that will address this issue is necessary for this institution. According to Mostafa et al. (2021), CLABSI is a severe HAI that impacts care significantly; thus, establishing effective changes in care will be crucial in promoting safety and quality care. Some stakeholders implementing the change include nurses, physicians, and patients. Each stakeholder will be provided with a specific role to play. Some of the risks associated with implementing the change will include staff resistance and lack of enough resources. For patients suffering from central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSIs) (P), does improving hand hygiene practices (I), compared to not improving hand hygiene practices (C), help in minimizing the risk of infection (O) for a period of three months (T)?
To establish a PICOT question, first, I analyzed various clinical issues that tend to be severe in medical care. One severe clinical issue that was identified was CLABSI. This clinical issue was selected as it is a significant issue that affects the care process. CLABSI is a vital clinical issue that disrupts care; thus, establishing a PICOT question to address this clinical issue is crucial. Further, an analysis of how CLABSI may be prevented was conducted. Identifying the best measure to address CLABSI was essential to establish an efficient PICOT question. Ensuring proper hand hygiene was the intervention to help show the PICOT question. After all the data had been obtained, the PICOT question was developed.
Identifying the best research databases for this analysis was crucial to analyzing CLABSI efficiently. One database that was used for this assignment was CINAHL. Because it contains resources and functions tailored to the medical sciences, this database was my choice. For instance, it provides a complex thesaurus for medical topics and the CINAHL Headings framework for topic headings, which also features search filters tailored to medical science and evidence-based practice. Through such tools, I was able to navigate and select peer-reviewed articles. Other research databases I used included MEDLINE, PubMed, and Google Scholar. These databases were efficient as they enabled me to distinguish which peer-reviewed articles were efficient in helping collect crucial information on CLABSI. To search for the keywords for this PICOT question, I used the Boolean Operator.
According to Greskowiak. (2019), ensuring nurses adopt good hand hygiene practices is essential, particularly in hospice care. Most patients in hospice care tend to be at high risk of developing CABSI. Based on the evidence provided, issuing hand sanitizers to nurses is essential to managing the growing cases of CLABIS. For instance, healthcare gadgets may remind nurses to wash their hands or use sanitizers regularly.
A crucial change that may be established to address CLABSI is mandating all healthcare professionals to regularly adopt hand hygiene practices when they get in and out of patient rooms. Hand hygiene is essential to every efficient patient safety and infection control program. The evidence-based recommendations propose using the aseptic technique to avoid contamination with germs and inserting and caring for central venous catheters (CVCs). Healthcare professionals should be mindful of maximum sterile barrier measures, skin preparation, catheter selection, and the application of catheter kits or carts while getting ready to install CVCs (Simoneaux & Guerra, 2022). By ensuring proper hand hygiene practices such as the Asseptic technique, the rates of CLABSI in facilities can be effectively managed. Establishing such a change in this facility could be crucial in managing the increasing rates of CLABSI. Through this change, patient safety will be improved. An EBP approach will be used to ensure efficient adoption of the change. Using an EBP approach in decision-making will be crucial as it will help incorporate the most used evidence and approaches to maintain proper hand hygiene (Hsieh et al., 2023).

Next week, you will analyze the purpose and use of quantitative research data. You will continue to explore and analyze data, specifically looking at independent and dependent variables and interpreting statistics.
This is insightful; the sampling method selected is appropriate for the research problem under the study. The systematic sampling method involves the identification and selection of elements from the ordered sampling frame (Sayed & Ibrahim, 2018). One of the most common forms of systematic sampling is the equiprobability method. Identifying the right population for the research is one of the approaches that can be used to address the challenges associated with obtaining samples from the identified population (Räty et al., 2020).
In other words, there is the need for the researchers to identify a homogenous population for the study. Besides, adherence to ethical practices will be necessary for addressing the challenges associated with the research approach. Another population that can be used in the study is the drug addicts in the mental health clinics. The use of questionnaires is one of the data collection methods identified. The strength of this method lies in the ability of the researcher to collect first-hand information (Paradis et al., 2016). Through the use of questionnaires, information or data collected can be easily compromised. Besides the use of questionnaires, interviews can be used to collect data from the research respondents.

The research problem from my last week discussion is that many immigrants in the United States of America do not subscribe to believing in mental health due to cultural beliefs and as a result do not seek needed help for their children or themselves. The immigrant population would be my research focus group.
Research involves getting information and analyzing the information carefully before writing up the results. While methods and aims may differ between fields, the overall process of data collection remains largely the same (Bruce, Pope, & Stanistreet, 2018). More so, the method of data analysis will vary according to the method of data collection. My research for example, will be focus group research. In focus group, discussions or interviews are transcribed verbatim and analyzed using various analytical methods such as the grounded theory analysis. Focus groups are less threatening to many research participants and this environment is helpful for participants to discuss perceptions, beliefs, opinions, and thoughts (Adler, Salanterä & Zumstein, 2019). To explore the credibility of my research, my mode of analysis will need to enable a clear exploration of the dialogue between the interviewer and the interviewee.
According to Adler, Salanterä and Zumstein, (2019), focus-group interviews in recent years as a means of qualitative data collection, have gained popularity amongst professionals within the health and social care arena. Despite this popularity, however, focus-group still poses challenges to researchers. First thing to consider is the ethical challenges that might arise. Adler, Salanterä and Zumstein, (2019) noted that ethical considerations in conducting focus groups with youths and parents do not differ from guidelines in other qualitative research. Consent would have to be obtained from participants. Moreover, focus groups need the approval from an institutional review board. That means that the proposal including the details of the study must be submitted for review to ensure that the standards of human subject research are met. The biggest challenges I am anticipating with this focus group is finding participants that will want to participate as some from this population do not believe that mental health is a condition that requires intervention and treatment.
The strategies I intend to use to address data collection in obtaining data samples are to first provide education in such a way that the participant understands the research. More so, I would ensure that the questions are not designed to find fault or blame the participant for their beliefs. Luke and Goodrich (2019) noted that the research question and research design ultimately guide how the focus group is constructed. I would then analyze the data to identify common themes and patterns. Use qualitative research and analysis techniques to interpret the data and extract meaningful findings.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CLASS
Discussion Questions (DQ)
Initial responses to the DQ should address all components of the questions asked, include a minimum of one scholarly source, and be at least 250 words.
Successful responses are substantive (i.e., add something new to the discussion, engage others in the discussion, well-developed idea) and include at least one scholarly source.
One or two sentence responses, simple statements of agreement or “good post,” and responses that are off-topic will not count as substantive. Substantive responses should be at least 150 words.
I encourage you to incorporate the readings from the week (as applicable) into your responses.
Weekly Participation
Your initial responses to the mandatory DQ do not count toward participation and are graded separately.
In addition to the DQ responses, you must post at least one reply to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies.
Participation posts do not require a scholarly source/citation (unless you cite someone else’s work).
Part of your weekly participation includes viewing the weekly announcement and attesting to watching it in the comments. These announcements are made to ensure you understand everything that is due during the week.
APA Format and Writing Quality
Familiarize yourself with APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required).
Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation.
I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.
Use of Direct Quotes
I discourage overutilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Masters’ level and deduct points accordingly.
As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an underastanding of the content or critical analysis of the content.
It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.

SAMPLING NURS 8201
Your initial discussion post should be a minimum of 200 words and response posts should be a minimum of 150 words. Be advised that I grade based on quality and not necessarily the number of words you post. A minimum of TWO references should be used for your initial post. For your response post, you do not need references as personal experiences would count as response posts. If you however cite anything from the literature for your response post, it is required that you cite your reference. You should include a minimum of THREE references for papers in this course.
Please note that references should be no more than 5 years old except recommended as a resource for the class. Furthermore, for each discussion board question, you need ONE initial substantive response and TWO substantive responses to either your classmates or your instructor for a total of THREE responses. There are TWO discussion questions each week, hence, you need a total minimum of SIX discussion posts for each week. I usually post a discussion question each week. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.
I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength. I pray that each and every one of you receives strength for this course and life generally as we navigate through this pandemic that is shaking our world today. Relax and enjoy the course!
