Your initial discussion post should be a minimum of 200 words and response posts should be a minimum of 150 words. Be advised that I grade based on quality and not necessarily the number of words you post. A minimum of TWO references should be used for your initial post. For your response post, you do not need references as personal experiences would count as response posts. If you however cite anything from the literature for your response post, it is required that you cite your reference. You should include a minimum of THREE references for papers in this course.

Please note that references should be no more than 5 years old except recommended as a resource for the class. Furthermore, for each discussion board question, you need ONE initial substantive response and TWO substantive responses to either your classmates or your instructor for a total of THREE responses. There are TWO discussion questions each week, hence, you need a total minimum of SIX discussion posts for each week. I usually post a discussion question each week. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.

I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength. I pray that each and every one of you receives strength for this course and life generally as we navigate through this pandemic that is shaking our world today. Relax and enjoy the course!

Among the defining elements of the health practice is health challenges that require creative and evidence-based solutions. Accordingly, health care providers must be committed to generating and applying new knowledge to address health problems. In this case, solutions should be evidence-based. A spirit of inquiry is critical to promoting an evidence-based culture irrespective of one’s specialization area. 

With health care challenges requiring creative, relevant, and current solutions, a spirit of inquiry serves as the baseline for evidence-based practice. Its adoption implies that the health care setting is committed to promoting an evidence-based culture since an inquiry spirit prompts health care providers to raise questions, explore alternatives, and provide lasting solutions to the current and emerging problems (Migliore et al., 2020). Since it informs both learning and practice, a spirit of inquiry enables health care providers to provide evidence-based solutions to practice problems. It is an approach to utilizing the best and creative solutions in health practice and influencing practice change in the desired direction. 

Due to its profound benefits, advanced registered nurses should encourage a spirit of inquiry. I can promote this spirit within my practice by encouraging my colleagues to collaborate and look for different perspectives when solving a health problem. Nurses should always be motivated to apply the most current, culturally, and linguistically relevant health care solutions (Shepherd et al., 2019). Such a situation can only be possible when we embrace in-depth analysis of issues, reading widely, and embracing research in routine practice. We should be intrinsically motivated to resist the status quo and keep improving the solutions we apply to solve health problems. 

Overall, advanced registered nurses should be instrumental in revolutionizing the health practice by ensuring that health care solutions are relevant and up-to-date.  They should embrace current and relevant procedures by implementing evidence-based practice (EBP). For nurses doing nursing leadership, EBP implementation occurs by undertaking EBP projects to influence positive practice change. As it applies to other scenarios, the primary objective of such implementation is ensuring that health care processes are guided by the most appropriate, up-to-date clinical evidence.
