Similarly, 7.0 million youths in the age range 12 to 20 admitted to have drunk alcohol beyond just tasting in the last 12 months (NIH, 2021).
  6. Statistics vary with race and ethnicity. White and Hispanic youth aged 18 years is twice as likely to drink as a Black of similar age. However, at age 14, all youths are likely to drink alcohol regardless of race or ethnicity (NIH, 2021).
