Organizational Readiness

Time constraints hampered implementation significantly. Employees stated that they were overworked, which prevented them from reviewing new material. There was little experience with EBP due to time constraints. Despite the limited time available, facilitators discovered on-site providers eager to promote EBP (Schaefer & Welton, 2018). Providers will receive EBP training to boost their confidence and drive to improve integration. They will be able to identify areas for improvement thanks to the training. The flaws that have been discovered will then be investigated, and appropriate remedies will be proposed for approval. Following that, policies to guide implementation and aid in the execution of approved solutions will be developed.

Dissemination is the dissemination of evidence-based practice information to a variety of clinical settings in order to increase understanding and adoption of new or modified evidence-based practice. Proposing evidence-based practice projects in a diverse but related setting allows for stakeholder support, which increases resources to conduct more complex studies and implement improved interventions. Stakeholders are critical because studies require not only financial support for equipment, clinical resources, and personnel, but also stakeholders who understand the importance of a project or proposal in improving patient-related health outcomes (Cunningham-Erves, Mayo-Gamble, Vaughn, Hawk, Helms, Barajas & Joosten, 2020).

Health care facilities, specifically the outpatient/public nutrition department, would be the primary internal stakeholders for my evidence-based project. To obtain consents and access to the target population, a health care facility’s approval would be required, and because consent and privacy must be followed ethically, approval from a health care facility may already have detailed policies regarding such proposals. Because the project is focused on nutrition, direct communication with administration and the nutrition department will be essential for maintaining stakeholder trust (Warren, Constantinides, Blake & Frongillo, 2021).

External stakeholders include those who provide assistance outside of the health care facility, such as local or public dieticians/nutritionists, patients, and public education programs. You can also include digital or virtual stakeholders who are willing to support structured and guided approaches to diet modification and nutritional information using technology. While direct communication can be facilitated for public services and patients, technical stakeholder support for improvements and utilization may necessitate technical communication (Warren, Constantinides, Blake & Frongillo, 2021).

Assessment Description

The dissemination of an evidence-based practice project proposal is an important part of the final project. Dissemination of your project to a local association or clinical site/practice informs important stakeholders of evidence-based interventions that can improve clinical practice and ultimately patient outcomes.

For this assignment, develop a professional presentation that could be disseminated to a professional group of your peers.

Develop a 12-15 slide PowerPoint detailing your evidence-based practice project proposal. Create speaker notes of 100-250 words for each slide. For the presentation of your PowerPoint, use Loom to create a voice-over or a video. Refer to the topic

Identify which statistical test you would use in conjunction with your selected research design from DQ 1 to evaluate the outcomes for your evidence-based project proposal and explain why you selected this test. What kind of information will this test provide about your outcomes?

According to Parab & Bhalerao, “statistical tests are mathematical tools for analyzing quantitative data generated in a research study” (2010). There are a number or test that researchers can use which can also become overwhelming and cause confusion for the research, and that can lead to sabotaging and tainting their study. Selecting the statistical test helps the researcher understand what to look for in the study as well as help organize their data. Parab & Bhalerao (2010) stated that “Before selecting a statistical test, a researcher has to simply answer the following six questions, which will lead to correct choice of test:”.

  1. How many independent variables covary (vary in the same time period) with the dependent variable?
  2. At what level of measurement is the independent variable?
  3. What is the level of measurement of the dependent variable?
  4. Are the observations independent or dependent?
  5. Do the comparisons involve populations to populations, a sample to a population, or are two or more

samples compared?

  1. Is the hypothesis being tested comparative or relationship?

 

Statistical testing is used explain the results of a study. The test that I would use would be the t-test. “A t-test is a type of inferential statistic used to determine if there is a significant difference between the means of two groups, which may be related in certain features” (Investopedia, n.d.). I would used this test because of show the averages of nurses to patient ratios to help determine the correlation between low staffing and high staffing and whether each has a positive or negative effect on patient health outcomes.

This is insightful Abe, evidence-based practice refers to the thorough, problem-solving approaches that are based on the research outcomes. Before engaging in the evidence-based practices, there is always the need to undertake research processes and ensure that the clinical outcomes are viable or applicable. Evidence-based practices are done to ensure the quality of healthcare delivery (Warren et al., 2021). Data is considered an important resource when it comes to the implementation of evidence-based practices. Dissemination of evidence-based practices refers to the approach of implementing and spreading the evidence-based practice that have been developed. The process of disseminating evidence-based practice may involve different clinical settings to enhance the understanding as well as the adoption of new practices. Successful implementation of evidence-based practices requires support from different stakeholders including the management, staff, the community, healthcare professionals, and patients (Watt, 2018). The contribution of stakeholders is essential in ensuring the success of evidence-based practices. There are both internal and external stakeholders who may be involved in the dissemination of evidence-based practices. Internal stakeholders include healthcare professionals while external stakeholders may involve the community and sponsors.
