2. Compare what you learned this week to the information from last week.
3. Were there any similarities between the mechanisms of actions, adverse effects, and nursing implications between anti-infective, chemotherapeutic, pain, and neuro-psychotherapeutic drugs.

1. Pain can be a very individualized and subjective experience. Think about how your personal experiences with physical pain shape your thoughts about assessing and administering pain medications for patients.
2. Have you ever had to interact with a client who has demonstrated mental illness? Mental illness is most often caused by imbalances in neurotransmitters. Think about how psychotherapeutic drugs work in the brain to correct these imbalances.
3. During a seizure, the brain experiences abnormal electrical activity. Anticonvulsants work to decrease the excitation of neurons. Can you think of possible adverse effects that may result from a decrease in the excitation of the brain?
